About Me
It all started when I was a talkative little two year old, praying at a fire temple in Udwada. It went something like this (or so I am told) - " Dadaji, please mane good, clever girl banavjoji. Mommy daddy, bapaiji, granny, grandpa ne badha ne sari tandorosti aapjoji. Dadaji please mane coqcoq khavarjoji!" (Translation : "God, please make me a good, clever girl. Guard my mommy-daddy, granna and granny-gramps in good health. Dear God, please let me have chicken.") As I grew up I watched my gran and aunt cook and my mom make the occasional Mawa-cake, there was no way I couldn't fall in love with cooking, baking and eating :)
All grown up now at age, 20-something, born and brought up a Bombay ni Bawi, I, Ava Sethna, decided last year (July - 2011) that I want to tell tales about the food that I have grown up eating and the food that I have grown to love. I am however a working girl by day, so most of my cooking in the kitchen is usually restricted to the wee- hours of weekdays and weekends.
I hope you enjoy tagging along my trail of culinary chronicles here!
Love,
Ava S.
